Fred Ashleigh Thornton was born Christmas Eve 1995 at Reading Hospital. They graduated from the Foundation course at Newbury college and went on to study Illustration for a year before transferring to Fine Art at Solent Southampton University. Their work deals heavily with her experience and her body as a fat, disabled queer. They are currently based in Southampton with their queer family.
